Anthropotamus is a podcast dedicated to exploring the science of humanity. Created by Ashley Baeza and Les Teems in collaboration with the American Anthropological Association, the podcast began as a way to deepen their own passion for anthropology and share that enthusiasm with others.
Today, Anthropotamus brings together anthropologists, archaeologists, researchers, students, and curious minds from around the world to discuss the latest discoveries, research, news, and events in anthropology. Through interviews with leading scholars, research spotlights, book discussions, and engaging conversations, we explore topics spanning cultural anthropology, archaeology, biological anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and related fields.
At its core, Anthropotamus is committed to making anthropology accessible while fostering a diverse and inclusive community that values research, perspectives, and experiences from all backgrounds. We believe that understanding humanity requires listening to a wide range of voices and approaches, and we strive to highlight the discoveries, debates, and field experiences that shape our understanding of human societies—past and present.
Whether you’re a seasoned anthropology professional, a student beginning your anthropological journey, or simply fascinated by the human experience, Anthropotamus offers a place to learn, connect, and stay informed about the ever-evolving world of anthropology.
